Hi

if we ignore the cost and time to setup an online shopping cart an website, and just assume all that is done. What would be a rough budget for a google ppc campaign to get sales in for these, and also how much of a budget would be needed for seo?

1. A online shop selling kitchens. So products would be kitchen doors, carcasses, worktops etc. Also would the price of these make a difference and would you have to be the cheapest?

2. Online shop selling blank DVDs and all associated media?

I have used to ppc google tools however I don't really know how to work out an idea of cost.

As with any product, all SEO and PPC can do is get people to your website...... the quality of your product, your website, and your price is what will dictate if people buy or not.

What said, if you aim for a 1.5% sales ratio, that would mean you need to generate 150 visitors to get 1 sale. Your price and the quality of your website will determine if 1.5% can be improved upon.

    great info

is that just in general for a shop targetting all the uk, or maybe a little specific to kitchens?

so if i work on a 4% conversion rate that means i need to get 25 clicks to get 1 sale. if i work on a 4% of people who view my add make a click that means to get 25 clicks i need 625 views on my add.

if i work on a 1.5% conversion rate that means i have to get 67 visitors to my site i think? im not sure how you got 150? if i work on a 1.5% of people who view my add make a click that means to get 67 clicks i need 4467 views on my add.

    is that right?

then to work out how much per click i suppose you have to work out the average sale value and then how much profit you have in that sale.

Yep those figures are right.....I dont kow where I got 150 from either!

I would add that 4% is very ambitious. If I was doing a business plan I'd be using 1.5% not 4%.
