VAT on Accountancy fees

Is VAT charged on accountancy fees ?

I have an invoice from the accountant here, but its not showing VAT on it.....

Accountancy fees are vatable but maybe the accountant is under the VAT threshold and not VAT registered ?

I suspect your accountants turnover is less than £70,000 and he/she isnt registered for VAT - but to be certain why not ask him/her?

Seems strange that they would issue an invoice with no VAT if they are VAT registered and the service they provided was vatable ... even stranger if they knew you were VAT registered :|

Sorry, that does not sound right!

Was the original invoice a pro-forma? But then again, if the invoice was a pro-forma surely it would show the VAT on it.
