Hello,
I wondered if anyone might provide me some advice on VAT. I work as a sole trader, I am consulting for a US company and soon will reach my VAT limit.
They are my only customer, and I wondered if I need to charge them VAT? I am based on the UK and supply my services to them from a home office. I am concerned as the VAT wouldn't be recoverable by them, and therefore would make my supply of consultancy very expensive indeed.
I tried to understand my position from the updated rules from HMRC from Jan 2010, but its still not clear to me.
Can anyone help?
Many thanks!
