I was checking my HMRC online account for my PAYE tax code and noticed it stated “you are registered for self assessment to use your self assessment you will need to request access” but although I have been researching to start my online e-commerce store I have not registered for self assessment. Is this on my HMRC account by default or has HMRC added it? I have a full time paid job. My employer does not know my plans. Mystified why it’s there. If anyone can help advise me if this is standard practice? I have registered with potential suppliers for my products could it be that activity?
