Trade Marks

Registering a Trade Mark costs £200-00 plus £50-00 per additional class.

It is well worth using the Search & Advisory service that the Patent Office also offer, first of all. They will tell you whether your proposed mark is likely to be registered, saving you the expense of going straight for the registration, and losing your £200-00.

After the trade mark is published, which takes about six weeks, there is then a 3 month period in which opposition to the trademark takes place.

If nobody opposes the trademark then it is registered, and you will receive a certificate of registration. Registration lasts for 10 years, and there are no other fees to pay during that period.
