Hope the Forum don't mind me using this network to spread the word about an amazing young man Chris Jackson, who's dedicated 2010 to helping raise awareness about the humanitarian crisis in the Congo.

Chris Jackson was so moved by the devastation he saw, when he was out in the Democratic Republic of Congo and shocked at how rape is being used as a weapon of war, that he's dedicated 2010 to raising awareness and fundraising for Women for Women International, by running 12 marathons in 12 months, plus triatholons, an iron man and various other races.

On the 18th August, Chris will be running what some say will be the Most Dangerous Marathon in the World in the centre of the conflict in the eastern provinces of the Congo. He will be running between Women for Women International projects and visiting the UN refugee camps to hear directly from those who have been affected.

Women for Women International has already helped 30,000 women who have been abused and often lost their children, their husbands and their homes to rebuild their lives. The charity does this through vocational and business training and micro loans, giving women who have lost everything the ability to start their own businesses and support their families.

Please visit Chris's blog and leave him a message of support.
And if you could make a donation to help Women for Women International help more women that would be amazing.

    Thank you
