That does not suprise me SJG like most sectors we have our fair share of cowboys. The thing is if you pay some young wipper snapper peanuts and a tagert with commission, normally a target he wont reach he is then forced to push hard, and when he gets older he will know how he was extorted. I totally agree with you about the Pipe line management, I used to provide all my clients with short term and long term leads and follow ups as well after I complete an appointment setting campaign, but you gave it a name "Pipe Line Mgmt" which I didn't know, thanks for that Mike. just an update on this for certain businesses telemarketing will work... however the person telemarketing has to be professional The "we have someone in your area in 2 days time can they pop in " never works amazing how many times this is used I believe it`s always about quality not quantity quantity is ******** selling quality is professional selling
Not sure I would release it as a press release - doesn't seem to have a compelling story or angle, rather it is good advice on telemarketing - but then I am not a PR expert. I think it would be better reworked and published as an article on some of those free article sites. Also, I would be a tad cautious about derogatory comments about other set ups including India - probably does not reflect that well on your own brand.

For me telemarketing is not a waste of money and for other company telemarketing is cost effective and the reason why are they successful.

Telesales/Marketing is rarely done right as companys dont understand the full required investment to make it work correctly. I currently work for a IFA where we proactively seek out new clients. YTD we have written under £100k in new business. however salarys for 3 telesales, 2 field consultants total £180k. Currently we convert 2% of our meetings. Dear god! If your thinking about setting up a telesales team you can cut costs of staff by accurately choosing your market and setting up a sales process and systems over highering additional staff like we have.
