I am struggling to come up with a name for a new letting agent business, name should also be available on companies house to register.

Whatever Ive searched so far has been taken already. I think its a great time to capture the boom in rentals and have found a good location.

I would like a professional name but cant seem to find any so would like your help.

What happened to the old business gone under?

Whats wrong with Batra letting agents?

No, touchwood everything running good. Batra letting agents

a. Wouldnt seem professional.
b. Would kill any sales opportunities.

I would, if I wanted to use my name Id select Batra estates etc. But I would stay away from using name too asianfied.

I think you might be over complicating it, most agents just have descriptive names or use their own name. Still i suppose it could help you stand out from the crowd with something quirky.

Yes but the last thing I want is my name to go against me. I understand your point, but I just think a general name would go long way and also make my branding a lot more easier and better.

You could have variations like Yes Letts, Yes-Lets, Yeslets.com, etc.

Or you can just put (Lettings and Management) at the end of the name.

'Lets' is a positive and quite flexible word - if you think long and hard enough, you will find a catchy name with the word 'lets' in it, I'm sure.

Personally, I'd either go down the 'Lets' route or I'd think of something quirky and unrelated. What I wouldn't do is go for a name that is totally generic and boring like TRS Lettings Ltd or Bristol Letting Agents. You want to stand out in some way.

Personally I'd keep thinking of your options at this stage. No rush!

Time is of the essence. I need to get the lease started shortly, so would be a lot more handy to have a name, company, domain, software and branding ready to move in. I can get the lease done in around two weeks.

Another thing is to investigate the book keeping required in this.

Also not to forget the signwriting etc etc, the list is endless.

I hear what you are saying Batra and understand your reasons for not wanting to use your existing name.

Coming up with a business name is often more important than people think. Get it wrong and you could really be shooting yourself in the foot. I did exactly that with a carpet cleaning business I had. The name, whilst not a bad one, kind of gave the wrong impression of the service I offered.

I know people like silly or clever puns etc, but I don't think it is appropriate for an estate or letting agent. It's an industry that needs to sound nothing but serious and professional - let's not forget the kind of money involved in the property market.

In my experience most letting or estate agents generally include a surname, but as you don't want to do this, you have a bit of a problem. You could always use certain letters from your name. For example, my initials are MDS, so I used them to form the word MiDaS as a possible name for my company. Do you see what I mean?

A name that includes the word "Property" is an obvious solution and Propertywise as someone else suggested is a good one.

Short of that, just google estate agents and see how others have formed their name.

Ah, right. Well, if I think of any other names in the next day or two, I'll let you know.

Another thing to consider with a name is keywords. If you can get your keywords in your domain name, it will give you a headstart when it comes to SEO.

Hi Betra,

difficult one if you don't want to isolate the fact that you do sales as well.. you may be best to stick to a normal name and have a catchy strap line that would stick in peoples minds on your stationary, marketing etc..

would you mind if I PM you..

Thanks

Boom Rentals was the first thing that cross my mind :)

I think it's great that you're taking time to decide to the business name though. What's going to be your USP? Focus the name around that

I am still open to suggestions, and have noted propertwise as a good option. Thanks

www . propertywise .co.uk isnt available :(

How about Home 4U or Homes 4U.

4u seems to be popular these days and is more personal, and to be honest it never occured to me that Batra was asian the firts though you get is that is stands for something. Everyone views names in a different way!

Good luck!:D

Why not just be honest and go with "Batra non-enterprises". After all your the only the "group of companies" that I have ever come across that appears to have no business interests what so ever

I presume that whole buying facebook likes thing didn't work out so well.

When I was thinking about the name for my company I was thinking of the short nice word plus cleaning services.
I'd suggest you choose a nice/professional/catchy/what ever word + letting agency. Use Thesaurus dictionary for the variations of the words. Lot's of people use the street's or castle nearby name..
Good luck!

Ive come up with a name, not registered on companies house and available .co.uk and .com

Only 12,000,000 hits in google and not one exact match.

I will just consult a couple of people before registering. Fingers crossed.

Great! Buy the domain, incorporate (register with Companys House) and then come back here and let us know what name did you go with!

Always on the dole or do you ever work? I would seriously get a life before your lose yours. 703 trolling posts and not one sensible, with an average 17 trolling posts a day you really make fun of yourself here.

1,395 posts either asking for advice on non-existent business or how to get facebook likes - yep your life is so much fuller than mine!!!

Yes, my business is quiet at the moment - openly admit it in my signature.

And thanks for noticing, yes I do happily make fun of myself and not take myself to seriously.

Maybe you should name your pretend agency "Facebook Estates" and buy all the facebook "likes" you can afford and trade solely through facebook - all those purchased potential customers will make you really busy.
