Hi
I'm trying to start a new business venture which will require 2 very basic childrens garments. I have spent the last month scouring google for factories in china & india & contacting them to find out if interested & then sending requirements & asking for prices. Out of the 30 or so I've contacted only 2 have come back, 1 with any substance. But both are quite expensive & I can actually buy what I require from a major UK Supermarket chain cheaper (although material is not ideal it would suffice) Are you supposed to bargain over prices quoted?? If so by how much. Plus the better of the two factories have come back & said that the order isn't really that large for them to do a good deal. Admittedly I need to test the market with my idea & have asked for an initial 600 garments, if it's successful this will rise to 50,000 pieces next year, possibly rising to 150,000 pieces later in the year then increasing year on year.
Does anyone have any contacts with a factory that would be interested in assisting me or should I be trying to strike a better deal with one that has had decency to respond!
