Has anyone applied for the Fulfilment House Due Diligence Scheme?

Is it as much of a ball-ache as it first appears?

I had never heard of it until now but it sounds interesting and will have a look this weekend.

You're going to need lots of capital or a very strong relationship with a bank in that industry!

Warehousing is a very costly industry to be involved in. The big customers need lots of space and pallet per week prices as low as £1.50, the small customers you can charge more, but you need a hell of a lot of them to keep utilisation high.

Saying that it could be a very good time since many may be looking for 3PL to get rid of their warehouse commitments due to covid.

Those things aren’t an issue, I was just asking for tips/advice about the government’s Due Diligence thing.

We have been on it for a short while now. It was a bit of a nuisance getting it sorted, a bit of admin and one site visit, but they seemed happy with everything, added us to the list, we do our due diligence part and heard noting since. As far as I am aware all fulfilment companies are required to join.

Filled in the application form then had a phone 'interview' with HMRC. To be honest the person we spoke to didn't sound that they knew much about fulfilment! HMRC's main area of focus seems to be any Non UK companies that you handle fulfilment for, and ensuring that due diligence is correctly done on these.
