Absolutely the perception of a lot of people is that these kids are stupid hence the way they behave.

All they want in most cases is a job.

But thanks to various governments friendly attitude to the banking fraternity there are very very few available .

Yup sometimes it may be good to remind them they are political servants of the taxpayer and society in general.

Mind you its quite common when a bunch of trainee hooray Henry's get elected.;)

but that argument could be levelled at many areas in the UK. there are very few jobs around here, mainly cafe work part time if you're lucky, a lot of that depends on summer trade.

the problem is far more deep rooted than just 'give them a job'. a lot of them have been given jobs, they either turn them down or dont turn up, which makes the whole situation even worse.

the amount of jobs i've seen handed out to people at 18/19 years old and they start on a monday are late on the tuesday and dont bother coming back on the wednesday.

there are serious problems that are not going to be sorted out by the current government or any of the possible governments that you can create from the current rabble of MPs.

The problem is people want the "decent job" but they don't want to put the effort in.

People over estimate their financial worth. I have no issue with these people, i actually feel a bit sorry for them, but at the end of the day stealing is wrong.

Not sure the slaves on our plantations would have seen it quite that way.;)

No doubt that the English nation were at one time the greatest international terrorist the world has ever seen.

Looting .rape and murder are ingrained in our blood.:)

Looting is still very prolific in this day and age,its just been made legal.:D

Well at least the poor chaps on the plantations were given a purpose in life, what else would they have been doing? Looting? :D

We did more good than bad in my opinion. We didn't get to finish the job off properly thanks to the germans but we tried hey...

Well we did plenty of good for the UK but very little for the rest of the world untill the industrial revolution which of course was financed by ( yes you guessed it ) Slavery.:)

Then it was not until we were in the deep stuff that we were forced to share out little inventions with the world.;)

Most of the more useful ones coming of course from Scotland.

so thanks to our psychotic forbearers you are now amongst the top 1% wealthiest people of the planet.

and you got the cheek to moan.:p

Think I'll stop listening to Radio 1... really annoying me listening to some of this garbage.

Just listened to the mother of a now convicted 12 year old blaming everyone herself, saying something along the lines of "what do you want me to do? Should I keep him in or keep him next to me?"

WTF - well if he's out rioting and stealing stuff thats EXACTLY what she should be doing!

Then she goes on to cry about peer pressure etc. What an absolute joke... people like that should have their kids taken off them.

    some people dont know laws.
there is this notion that you cant keep your kids locked in or what ever it takes to show them your the parent.many are to me confused about there rights as a parent towards there children.the laws of not smacking not doing this you cant do that have confused some parents..maybe
a child can and has complained to police or whom ever if a parent man handles them and locks them in the house.so whos fault is this?
i belive your right and she should keep him in till he learns but the above maybe a reason as to why she may not

I would bet the reality is that a lot of the parents of these youths are simply unable to fix any kind of curfew on them.
