    Good Morning Everyone

    ....bankaccounts-for-badcredit.com/cardonebanking-current-account-review

I have been notified by Optimise Media that CardOneBanking has changed its brand name to CardOneMoney.

I have changed the content on the above review page to reflect this.

However, should I change the above permalink to?: -

    ....bankaccounts-for-badcredit.com/cardonemoney-current-account-review

If I should do this are there any other things I should change/be aware of i.e. change any internal links to the new permalink?

If I should NOT change the permalink what should I do instead?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Once again, thank you in advance for your help.

    Regards

    Alan Hope

Yeah go ahead, I assume it is not a high traffic page and you are not trying to hold onto the google juice. You could also 301 redirect the old url to the new one.

I wouldn't change the link unless there was a compelling reason to do so. The above isn't one.

Leave it alone. Google takes very little notice of the URL, it's the content on the page, the title and inbound anchor text that matters more.

You do need to change the icon on the homepage though - it still says CardOneBanking.

If Optimise Media are advising you to change this one wonders what other bad advice they are giving....

    Hi fisicx

    Thank you for your comments.

I missed the logo on the Home page so I will get that changed.

Optimise Media have not specifically asked me to change the permalink - it was me trying to find out if I should do and if so if it had any negative impact with the likes of Google.

    Regards

    Alan

    Sorry, I misread your post.

If you change the permalink you then need to set up a 301 redirect to point Google to the 'new page'. Keep it simple and leave everything as it is.

I agree with all the above, it is not really necessary unless you feel you need to for vanities sake or for ensuring a coherent brand, it could be noticed by visitors but likely not. Also although google does not take keywords in urls into account other search engines might.

    Hi,
In this situation, you need to apply 301 permanent redirection.

I agree, leave the URL as it is. The impact of the change your are considering would be minuscule if any at all.

No you shouldn't because mainly nothing will be changed here anyway. I do not see it like that. If some name simply changed better leave something like that in it's current state and do not touch it at all for sure. Please don't do it. I do not understand how much is it.

Change the URL, point to the new URL - stop using so many friggin hyphens everywhere.

Blog about the name change and link to your new URL. Socially mention your blog post to syndicate.
