Apart from the current temporary discount, it’s slightly cheaper through an accountant. Is there any catch to this? Such as if I change accountant can I keep my same login and just change to paying Xero or another accountant?

@Mike_S01 I'd ask your accountant as it may be depend on the agreement they have with Xero - they are perfectly reasonable questions.

Mike it does not make much difference really.

We are Xero partners and most clients get the subscription as part of the wider retainer they have with us. we prefer it that way so we can make sure they go onto the right version etc

If you wanted to change firms we would just invite you or the new firm to takeover the subscription.

We have some clients who pay direct and invite us in, and vice versa which ever way you are more comfortable with.

We charge it at retail price, the small discount we get covers the cost of the admin around it.
So I don't think you will actually get a discount as such by buying from the accountant.

If you change accountants the Xero account will remain the same, its just who pays the the direct debit for it that changes.

I use Xero myself, I didn't know what to use when I first started, but I saw my accountant were Xero Specialists, so I figured I might as well use Xero as they would know the ins-and-outs. I just give them full access to everything. When it comes to VAT return time, I can see them logging in much more frequently. When they were preparing my year end, they looked through everything on Xero and said "You haven't been claiming this from the government, claim it!". Music to my ears!
