    Good afternoon,
I am wondering if anyone can help me with the following. One of the employees have to self isolate for 20 days because two members of the family cought covid-19. This employee has been on the payroll for a long time (since 2016). Can this employee be put on furlough for the self-isolation period?

    Many thanks

Is the business using furlough for any other reason at this time?

Yes, last month they still had one person on furlough and another one for flexi furlough, but this month one will be on furlough from 1st to 4th and then they come back and it would be this other person who is self isolating.
    thank you

    Then furlough should be fine.

    Good afternoon,
I would also like to find out if this person catches covid-19 himself can he be on furlough for that period too or only for the self isolation period before he got ill?
    Many thanks

He can be on furlough for as long as the business wants him to be on furlough. Bear in mind, though, that you can only claim 70% in July and 60% in August and September, while paying 80% plus pension and NI
