    Hello,

Does anyone know of the legalities of me keeping bank account statements from the company i was a director of? I resigned in March this year.

    Thanks

Those statements are the property of the company and are therefore not yours to destroy.

You should return the companies property to the person at the company whose job it is to look after them. As soon as possible.

Destroying them would be very unwise.

Do you mean are you permitted to keep copies of bank account statements of a company of which you were a director, and which you obtained properly while you were a director?

I would say yes, as you are still liable for anything that happened when you were a director and you may need them for proof. However, that is only a gut reaction.

If you have obtained statements since you resigned as a director, I would say no.
