Reselling Chinese Jewellery in the UK.

Hello, I recently created an Amazon Seller account to sell some old University books I had. I sold almost all of the books within 3 weeks and made £146. This got me thinking that I could resell items from China on Amazon. I managed to find some lines on AliExpress which Amazon UK and eBay don't have listed. I sourced some of the jewellery from one supplier and paid out £20. The items were excellent. I went to list on Amazon UK and they're asking for EU Reach compliance. Now I'm about to answer my own question I'm sure but I would need the seller in China to provide a materials assay to quality with EU Reach wouldn't I?

The products I've found are unique and I've since found more items that I'd like to resell however I understand the good reason behind EU Reach regulation, I'm looking not for ways to circumvent this but how to approach Chinese sellers and get the right assay information certificates and any other relevant advice that could be given to me. It seems that I can list the items on eBay but since I want to eventually start selling multiple items I wish to stay within the law.

Thanks Phil

Thanks for your reply. I'd bought a small amount to test the market. I'm sure the items will sell, I have a good feeling that they would be disirable items. Maybe I can look at Alibaba and higher quantities. As you say getting the certification that isn't fake is a problem.

many sellers on AliExpress are reseller not manufacturer, they buy products from alibaba.com and taobao.com.you can search on Alibaba

Thanks, I've found the same supplier on Alibaba. I will contact them, although I suspect the same is true of Alibaba whereby you can't verify if the source is actually the manufacturer. I thought of removing the metal pendants and other parts from the jewellery and re-adding them from a verified UK jewellery wholesaler, but it means a lot more time and would significantly eat in to the profit. I don't give up until there's really no way to make money. I will give it a bit more time and then move on to the next venture.
