    Hi,

I received a letter today from Companies Investigation Branch to give details about some work we did for a company they are investigating.

It all looks official (I checked the web address) but is it? Has anyone had one of these, can they confirm this is legit or any third party check that I can make?

    Thanks

The ".gov.uk" domain name would suggest it is legitimate - you have to be a government agency or department to get hold of one.

The site does look genuine. The only thing that concerned me was this phrase I came across under contacts
Don't see the business contact you are looking for at Federal Government Of United Kingdom?

A bit unusual but with Mandy in the background we never know whats going on. Perosnally if this was a tax matter concerning your former customer I would get your local tax office to check out the url. Also in any correspondence add "private & confidential - without prejudice"

You can't be accused of making a statemen then that can be used in court without them explaining why they are investigation.
