Replacement kitchen door sales skyrocket as recession hit home-owners look for easy and inexpensive DIY projects

Over recent months sales of DIY products have remained strong whilst sales of more expensive home improvement products such as expensive fitted kitchens and designer bathrooms have seen a dramatic slowdown.

This was highlighted by the recent announcement by bathroom manufacturer Ideal Standard with announced it was planning to close some of its factories with the loss of 560 jobs.

"We've seen a massive increase in the number of people looking to replace their kitchen doors, rather than buying a whole new kitchen" said Robert Clark, MD of replacement kitchen door specialists Kitchen Door Workshop Limited.

"Enquiries for fitted kitchens, which typically cost in the region of £5,000 - £10,000 have literally nose dived since last autumn as home-owners switched to cheaper alternatives and especially DIY replacement kitchen doors which typically cost £300-£400"

"We've seen our online sales of replacement kitchen doors double on what they were 12 months ago" said Robert Clark. "people are thinking twice before spending on 'large ticket' items and seem very keen to tackle more jobs themselves rather than paying other people to do the work for them"

"As a result of the increase in enquiries from DIY'ers we've added a whole collection of videos to our website www.kitchendoorworkshop.co.uk which show you, step by step, just how easy it is to replace your own kitchen doors"

"It's hardly rocket science" said Robert Clark "with a few basic tools, even a novice DIY'er can give their kitchen a total makeover in just a day or so and save themselves thousands of pounds at the same time"

Actually looking at replacing my kitchen doors in one of my properties as not keen on the builders choice.
Quite like the Pisa high gloss black. Any discount for UKBF members? ;)

My mother in law is interested in replacing her doors as her carcases are in decent nick. I dare say I've never been impressed with a 5% discount so what else can you do for me?

So a 5% discount is the best you can offer?

We don't offer discounts normally, so yes, its the best we'd be prepared to offer.

Once you've compared our prices you'll see for yourself just how competitive they are.

Big discounts don't necessarily equate to best value
