Recommendations for shipping insurance

Hi all

We are starting to ship an increasing number of parcels around the UK and some to Europe and the USA via normal courier.
Also the value of the goods we are shipping is increasing.

We are increasingly finding that the value of the products we are shipping are way above the maximum insurance value that the courier can offer, Our current courier offers a maximum compensation value of £500 and another company I contacted today had a maximum of £100.

On speaking to the companies they recommend that we take out our own insurance to cover the shipments that we make, although they were unable to suggest any companies who could offer us this type of policy.

Looking around Google I can only find insurance companies offering policies to courier companies or companies who will cover large deliveries sent as sea freight.

Has anyone got insurance cover for normal UK courier deliveries or can anyone recommend a company who can offer this type of policy?

I spoke to my business insurance broker today how said he will look into it but he has never been asked for this before (and didn't sound to hopefully).

I can't believe that this isn't something that companies regularly need and I am sure I must be using the wrong search terms or something.

It is all online based and once registered (for free with no limits on how much or how little you use) can obtain quotes and take out the cover. A number of our customers use it for small and large shipments and are happy with it. Hopefully this is something that may be a benefit.

You can take out a marine policy. Which despite the name covers goods that you are sending to your customers, worldwide, by any transport means, so it covers in your van, courier network, air, sea etc.
