Hey all,

I searched and searched but coulnd find what I am looking for. Currently, I am self-employed in the UK, but I plan to end self-employment and move my business to a different EU country.

I did some research and I stumbled upon 1 problem that is preventing me to go any further. Health insurance companies in Slovakia request a proof of stopping the self-employment in the UK in order to register me in Slovakia.

Does HMRC provide such documentation? I couldnt find anything on their website and tax return isnt enough, as it doesnt exactly say I am/will be no longer self employed.

Any advice will be highly appreciated!
Thanks

Touchy.....

Proof would come from Hmrc, as a result of that form being submitted. Not the completion of the form itself.

It’s like me writing a cheque for a million quid. It’s proof I can write a cheque, not that I have a million quid.

So get over yourself!

Did I say that proof would come from HMRC by completing the form? Or are you just a presumptuous little so and so.

Get back to your day job.

@GTL Don't want to be disrespectful or anything, but this question is about a proof of ending self-employment in general. What it is used for is a another matter. If no one knows, then I and other people who were or still are self-employed in UK and facing similar issue, need to sort it out in a different way.

Wow, thanks for all the replies, though you didnt give me confidence I can get what I need :-/
No one issues such a thing.... it would be impossible/worthless. Just because you may have stopped being self employed in the UK it doesn't mean you aren't working working self-employed somewhere else.

GTLs suggestion is a good one.... if these people want a document they must be able to give you an example of what they want and/or who would issue it. Ask them.
