    Friday, 25th July 2008

    Power Lunch Club organises Charity Business Networking Event

    The Power Lunch Club announced today that they have been asked by the Scottish charity The Thistle Foundation to organise a Charity Business Networking event on Thursday the 30th of October.

    The event, which will be run in association with Express, By Holiday Inn, Picardy Place, Edinburgh will attract nearly 100 businesses and aims to raise over £2500.

    Although the main focus of the event will be on business networking there will also be various raffle prizes available; one of the star prizes will be the use of a Bentley motor car for the day, kindly donated by Bentley Edinburgh. Along with the car, there will be various European short breaks to win and several others prizes being donated by Edinburgh businesses.

    Gordon Dow, Managing Director of the Power Lunch Club said, “This will be the second time we have had the honour of running the event for Thistle. The previous event in March this year was great success and we are confident that we can improve on that. Our aim is not just to raise funds for the charity, but to also ensure that the businesses that come along to what will be a fun afternoon get the full benefits of networking together.

    Our partners for the day, Express, by Holiday Inn ensure that we are always looked after when we are at their venue and we are delighted to be working with them again for this event.

    We have been overwhelmed by the standard of prizes that companies have already donated and it clearly reflects the value and high regard these organisations have for the charity.”

    Louise Blaikie, Fundraising Manager, for The Thistle Foundation said, “We are excited that once again, Scottish businesses will be networking together to help raise funds for our charity. Thistle was very pleased when the Power Lunch Club agreed to organise the event as they made the last one a great success.

    We know that they will attract a high calibre of businesses to come, ensuring a very effective and highly enjoyable event for all concerned.

    The monies raised on the day will go toward the important work of the charity. That is the creation of tailored services designed to support disabled people and those with long term health conditions to leading as full and active and as independent lives as possible.”

    A wee update to this event is that we have secured a very funny lady, Susan Morrison to host this charity event...it will be her second time doing this for us(see below).

    Also because if you would like to attend...please let me know...we are limiting the event to 100 business, but focusing on PLC members first....but if you want to attend...just PM me. You could win a Bently Motor car for the day...could you imagine the neighbours faces!!

    The total charge for the event will be £30 (Plus a 4.5% booking fee)
