We have always been keen advocates of pet insurance. Ensuring that your pets medical requirements and veterinary bills are taken care of is of the utmost importance. If your animal becomes ill and requires urgent medical treatment, the last thing you want to be thinking about is the financial implications.
You would not think twice about insuring your vehicle or home and yet there are still many pet owners who fail to insure their pets. You are however, far more likely to claim on your pet insurance compared to the anything else!
There has been huge advances in veterinary treatments over the years and the costs can spiral, running into hundreds if not thousands of pounds!. As well as medical expense, cover will also typically include legal expenses should your pet cause injury to a third party. It can also cover the cost of advertising if your pet is lost and even a reward for their safe return. A more expensive policy can also offer a payout, should you be forced to cancel your holiday if your pet becomes sick.
Although cats and dogs are the easiest pets to find insurance, other animals can be covered – even exotics. However, you may have to search for a specialist provider if your pet is a bearded dragon!
Knowing that you are covered by reliable and affordable insurance offers complete peace of mind and allows your focus to be on their care and recovery.
We have always been dedicated to offering consumers the best possible care for their pets which is why you can now visit our Pet Comparison Directory.

Your site will never be taken seriously if you dont have any 'big players' on your site.

How do you mean, since all those we currently carry are 'big players' In fact Pet Protect is probably the biggest, and we are adding more each day :|

I've never heard of pet protect. I know a lot about this area and would say that without Pet Plan or Tesco pet insurance on board, no-one will find your site useful. Just my opinion obviously, but as I said, I know a lot about this area.:)

Good idea, IMO if you dont have petplan you dont have anything. Pm me if you need any info, my better half is a vet and pet insurance advisor so I tend to, by default, be something of an expert also.

How are you planning on getting traffic to the site?

What you need is some kind of summary for people, (so they do not have to do the working out for themselves).

I have lost count of the number of people who say they cannot work out which insurance is best for them, so try and give some tips - if possible.

Friendly help nevers goes un-noticed, and people will come back to see what else you might be offering (but first you need to get the site noticed).

Some house insurance covers some animals, there are lots more you need to list.

Its a minefield once you start giving people advice about which insurance to take out.

No, that is not what I was meaning.
I simply meant, is insurance company A better for older dogs, will it cover older dogs, some do not.
Will company B insure existing problems..

    Nothing more than that!

I dont think you could generalise that much in terms of which companies are best for certain things. Like any insurance, there are so many variables to take into account. I see your point though.

If I was the OP I wouldn't be concentrating on using web based marketing to get traffic to the site anyway, or encouraging visitors by offering more value. There are much more efficient and effective ways of promoting a site like that. In fact the very thing that makes it difficult, it actually the thing that could make it highly succesful.

Sorry to be cryptic, I dont think the OP would want the world to know the best way to make money from her idea. :)

I know what you are saying.

There are so many sites offering comparisons, it all gets a might confusing.
Just offering a link to any particular site, is not that helpful really, is it.

What the OP should be doing is trying to get % off (if someone signs up after following a link from her site)!

Hard to say without knowing exactly what you are doing. I know what I would be doing if I were you, but as I said, we dont really know what your plans are.

    Any luck with Petplan?
