Evening all, im embarking on a new project which will be an online business and we're seeking to find a developer who can join us for the build. We initially favoured wordpress however one agency in Scotland has quoted for a build on wix, the initial homepage mock up looks good however I have concerns about paying a few thousand to have a site built on the Wix platform, are my concerns valid? Is wix now a viable option? Would it be wise to use Wix as our flagship site? It wouldn't just be a standard DIY build as bespoke coding is required and the developer in question has advised Wix now offers coding etc

    What!

£10 is too much to pay for a wix site. This guy is ripping you off.

Don’t ever, ever, ever use wix for a business site.

A few thousand for a Wix site??? Are they nuts? What's next? £10,000 for a Moonfruit site?

If that ain't extracting the urine in wholesale lots!

    Moonfruit......hee hee hee

Wix has got better but it's not a serious platform if you want to scale your business. It's a platform for bedroom side-hustles where you just want to earn a few quid and do nothing flashy.

If it's an e-commerce business then go for Shopify or Wordpress with Woocommerce.

Wix should be paying you to build a website using Wix.

Struggling? At this point in time?
You put an ad on some of the sites for a site to be built and get dozens of replies. Not all UK either.

Why are you struggling, is it unusually complex, or is it a time scale issue?

We've been approached by lots of people who want sites and marketing built immediately, due to the impact of Covid on their business, during second lockdown!

We keep explaining that we are focusing on our loyal customers and have lots of projects in the pipeline and that we can help, just not before Christmas!!!

We also explain that a properly researched, well specified and fully researched customer acquisition website process (based on market, product/service and customer research), rather than a rush job, is the way to go for proper results.

Anyone who is currently sat idle waiting for opportunities such as this is absolutely not the guy for the job.
