Good Afternoon,

I have a small up and coming creative agency which I am slowly building up in West Yorkshire.

If I am after a silent/active partner to come into the business with me, where would I start looking?

Are there any sites on the net where 'business angel' types can be found for smaller companies.

I'm only looking for about 3 - 4 thousand pounds and looking to give away approximately 30 - 40 % of the business profits.

This would be a great managed risk investment for the right person and I feel the right person could bring about some real benefits in terms of opportunities and potential custom.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

SJD grew out of all recognition in recent years. Specialised in providing accounting services to contractors. The biggest in that particular field.

Thanks for your help Trueman but Simon isn't looking at investments of such a small scale at present. This is getting very frustrating - no one seems bothered about anything less than 50 Grand! Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I am probably not the person you are looking for, however, I'll carry on!! I am an experienced Paediatric Nurse, though I have become disillusioned with nursing over recent years and the lack of opportunities to develop. Despite this, nursing has provided me with numerous skills that could be applied to business, such as communication, documentation and leadership.

For some time now I have wanted to start my own business but have lacked the necessary finances and confidence to take the plunge! However, your requirement of 3-4 thousand pounds is feasible and I am based in West Yorkshire (Boston Spa). On reading your post, perhaps we may be able to help each other?
