could anyone tell the max amount of products that oscommerce can hold and still work
Your best bet is to try here
it probably depends on what your server/hosting can handle.
Have a look at the MySQL website and see if theirs a limit on that, that will tell you as its stored as a database.
I was going to say that but thought it was taken as read, I see the new MySql5 claims a billion transactions a day, now that would be a busy shop!
Are you asking this because you think you will surpass the maximum? If so don't worry about it...
Of course it all depends on the server your on, but i reckon you'd be ok up to a hundred million products.
Of course theres also another hundred million factors which can change this equation, but the point is basically to say, you'll not exceed it.
The oscommerce has a very large community and their support are as well good, you should post your querry over their, I think you'll get suitable guideline.
I understand oscommerce is virtually unlimited.
How many products do you have?
Like the others say - check with the forums on oscommerce.
We use OsCommerce.
It works fine with our catalogue of 9500+ office products and machines.
The only related restriction is our database / web hosting service which is slowing it down.
We will move to a new host soon.
