when i was visiting Portugal once i found this orange vending machines that squeezes fresh oranges infront of you in the machine and gives you fresh orange juice. A see a lot potenical specially in some business buildings were people wants to have quick vitamins and fresh.

Anyway i found couple of this machines, but prices are from 3000$ to 10000$ per one machine. Those one with higher prices are much better because of some cleaning in the machine. I also found one company which gives you rental option, But does anyone have done or is doing similar business? i have no experience on that business activity. But i guess you have to have massive orders to get investment back..

    Thanks!

IMO the problem is going to be oranges, oranges in the UK are nowhere near as nice as if you get them in spain or portugal while your there (not imported ones), and the other is cost, buying oranges in spain at a source again is going to be much cheaper.

You are 100% correct, I have a friend who imports these machines and he told me the biggest problem in the UK is the cost and quality of the oranges.

It also seems to be a very short period that anyone actually sells the juice for i.e hot days.

These types of vendors are very high maintenance, daily clean down etc -you are dealing with fresh food. I do not see this type of vending machine as a business whereby you place the vendor on site and look after it as you will not be able to have many out there due to the high maintenance.

In my opinion, these types of vendors are more suited to large companies, coffee shops, motorway services etc whereby they either buy or lease/rent the vendor, they top up with oranges and do the daily clean down which is essential when dealing with fresh food. (speak to Environmental Health, they will advise).

I once looked at chip machines - seemed like a fantastic idea at the time, but when we looked at price (£8k!!), then looked at the amount of chips it could dispense and how often the vendor needed servicing, it was not viable and these type of vendors were bought by large corporation such as the BBC and large catering companies who provide services on site.

    Hope this helps.
