Dear Hedgie started a thread not many months ago, about getting the ever growing North West population together for a meet up, and unfortunately the thread died .... so therefore I will start one afresh .... so, anyone interested, and if you are please state which county you are from or nearest town and after getting all the information together we can possibly arrange something ...

    she said hopefully ....

Ding Dong (in best leslie Philipps voice), certainly interested Gill, will be great meeting folk.

That said, feeling might not be mutual LOL

May even be able to sort freebie lifts out though for any local folk - hope I don't sound desperate.

which brings me to another point Gill, was having meal in my 'local' tonight, and as I was just finishing group of folk come in, one lass set up a noticeboard etc. She had a badge on called Link NW or something. So, ever sociable and not wanting to miss out, started enquiring what was going in - thought it maybe some networking bash? Turns out it's a single's club! Good job I had a book with me to save myself ....

    Wine tasting lady here;)

People getting together and sharing wine...is what we do best!

Definitely interested and very happy to help organise. A food and wine tasting type thing would be great as it gives us plenty to talk about and enjoy. If I can get an idea of numbers and locations I might be able to sort out something.

    I'm in Cheshire.

I can see this is going to be fun trying to organise ... can those interested pm with preferred time of day and preferred or easiest venue to get to, and sorry but it cant be your small village .... and do remember that the north west covers areas such as cumbria to deepest cheshire and just into wales ... then we will go with the majority ....

On the "where" issue, a suggested location is where the M62 and M6 cross, or possibly M56 and M6...which just so happens to be where I live!

The other question is what kind of location: a bistro? pub with food? restaurant? - I can dig up a list of a couple in that neighbourhood depending on what people are after.

Yes strangley enough I know that area well as it where I grew up!! We will worry about venue when we get a concensus of people coming and knowing where the majority are based cos if we only get the northern end coming obviously it will be there ... anyhow peeps, get pming me if you want to come!

I've got a couple of good places at the moment who can organise food for us and enable me to do the wine side. I can also get a private section or room. Of the places I have in mind one is in Altrincham and the other is Congleton.

Hmmm. Congletons a bit far south for a "northern bunch" and altrincham is not exactly the easiest place to get too!

Yes you have to remember that some of us are travelling from the frozen north, and there are actually half a dozen of us too .... so easy access and somewhere central for everyone, hence me saying that if you pm me I will then work out where everyone is and organise the most central venue!
