Seriously,

This company sent their dodgy reps out to see me, they told me a load of information that just doesn't add up and isn't true. It sounded convincing but remember THEY ARE SALES REPS, they will say anything to get the sale!!!!!!!

I didn't find out the truth for months afterwards. The truth is they don't do anywhere near half the stuff the sales rep said.

It's lost my company frightening amounts of money due to their blatant lies.

incredibly overpriced and very unaproachable when the truth comes out.

insist on seeing the full terms and conditions of there business before you sign anything .

It turns out it's incredibly expensive for what they do,

READ THE VERY SMALL PRINT very slowly and be very warned !!!!!!!!! do not sign anything on the day !!!!

Think long and hard first.! DON'T BE FOOLED

Ouch sorry to hear that.

Looks like there view on link building / seo is dispensing news articles and hope for attention. One way to do it but not very diverse and realistic for most businesses.. Unless they actually do good link baits but no proof on the site

Be wary of a first post which could well be a competitor

This should be discounted and deleted

I personally know nothing about the Op company he is questioning so cannot comment but i hate first post which blatently discredit another company without history and reference

Adfero is a news content generation company - I've not heard of them offering a specific "SEO service", but they might be labelling the content as "useful for SEO" in terms of keeping content on a website updated.

I've spoken to them previously but found them over-priced for their market - Press Association now offers a similar product for a similar price.

Adfero also use to sneak in links to their homepage in the copyright notice at the end of their articles, which was sneaky. :)

Otherwise, it's a content generation company - one of a number - shop around.

One recommendation - watch out for salesmen trying to push a 18-24 month contract term. Take it to 3 or 6. There are content providers that will do this.

Also, don't consider publishing news content on your site unless your news is syndicated, otherwise chances are you will struggle with ROI.

News content traditionally has a poor ROI anyway, as news surfers are looking for news information, as opposed to being in buying mode.

Don't let anyone convince you that having news articles on your website is some kind of magic SEO trick for gaining sales. As with all content strategies, it's not what you have, it's the way that you use it.

Mystro, I agree that people should largely discount a post that discredits any named company without specific reference and proof. Even then, without a balanced approach, the poster is unlikely to engender much support. Adfero have plenty of satisfied customers.

Personally, I would be surprised if it were a competitor making the post. I can't speak for the Press Association, but here at Newsvend I maintain a close eye on all our public-facing activity, and it's just not part of our ethos to denigrate competitor companies. Our English would be better in any case :)

I,Bryan: You are right in that adding content of any kind in isolation is not an SEO strategy in itself. However with subsequent management of the news content, propagation into news aggregation sites and inclusion into newsletters, online news content is a powerful marketing tool that can contribute to substantial increases in Google SERPS, as many of our clients will attest.

Moreover, there are other reasons, in addition to SEO, that prompt companies to add unique news content to their websites, including the creation of an industry authority with the trust it entails, to the substantial traffic that can result from acceptance as a Google News source.

Hello to all readers of this post.

Just to make it clear,

I am not competitor however, I am a genuine medium sized company that is extremely dissapointed with what was agreed with newsreach and the so called service I got in reality. As far as I'm concerned newsreach is a company that has been unable to live up to it's reps sales pitch.

Message to newsvend and Mystro.

People are entitled to their opinions, that's the whole point of a forum.

although i am with Mystro with this one. I would like you to give more details as to how you feel you were done over by this company.
If you have proof please share. Otherwise if they are as bad as you say some other company will suffer.

I have heard of Adfero, but I cannot vouch for their trustworthiness.

One thing I can say though however is that generally if they are cold calling you then don't deal with them, chances are they will say anything to catch you. Not that i'm saying they can't do a good job, they are just generally only after your money.

A company that is only after your money will probably not focus on what you want, but rather will the ranking of a certain keyword. What good is a raking keyword without traffic though?

A general rule is do some research on the company, if they have any bad reviews then they probably can't be trusted. Judging by the comments on this thread there are a few people who believe they cannot be trusted.
