    Hi all
I am in the process of having a opencart site being developed, I sell online mainly UK I wish to have both a visitor an d a bona fide trader price scale accessed via a login.

Can anybody advise on what I should ask my developer for at this stage to avoid the risk of amendments and addons that might be costly afterwards?

    Cheers

If I remember rightly opencart does this out of the box! I haven't used it for a few years but it did when I last used it.

You can set trade prices and normal prices on products and then set accounts to trade group.

Edit: You can create customer groups so one for public and one for trade. You can then set special pricing on each product for different customer groups.

Are there any other plugins or things that I may add in general at the development stage, all pretty standard stuff realy I wish to use RM postage, order tracking etc but I dont want to get to the end and then realize I missed some shop parts off and go back to the developer and have in revisit and no doubt charge.

keep checkout and customer sign up fields on one page, opencart by default has to many entry fields that gives you a lot of abandoned shopping carts

Thanks very much for tagging us in. I didn't get a notification but chanced upon this anyway ...

It depends what you need it to do, but the big obvious ones are:
    1. It needs to be responsive.
    2. It needs to load very fast, so look at an extension called NitroPack Cache from iSense.
    3. It needs to be well-designed and have good product photography, but those aren't really extra features.
But there aren't really any essential features missing out of the box.

I would recommend "Opencart Lightning" for speeding up your store. The developer provides a 7 day trial so you can test if it works for you or not before purchasing.
