New employee appointment

    Hi,
    I run a limited company for last 6 years. Now I plan to employee someone as my staff and rent an office.
    I don't have any HR, my company is very small.
    Can I make an appointment letter and issue to the employee being director? I got an accountant already.
    What can be the complications? I plan to amend the appointment letter I received from other employers from my past work.
    What responsibility an employer has towards an employee, besides these given below
    Health and safety training
    Fire drill or evacuation training
    Keeping first aid kit etc.
