I am employer and employee of a limited company. I am sole director and sole employee. I am pregnant now and do not qualify for SMP. My accountant has posted SMP1 form on company's behalf. As an employee I can apply for MA1 and have eligibility for it. But then, I do NOT want to claim any maternity allowance. But I am going to take break from work for at least 6months My question now is: Should I make my company dormant during my break. (Are there any advantages or required reasons of making the company inactive when I am not at work) Or should I keep the company active and keep generating payslips. (I am not going to claim any kind of allowances from gov or job center plus) I want to take an appropriate action that's adheres with employment and business policy and not do anything that's wrong.
