My wedding date is set – now what?

Help! I’m getting married next August and I don’t have my invitations picked out yet. But since it’s summertime and people plan their vacations early, I’m afraid that there will be scheduling conflicts if I don’t get busy. Should I send out “save the date” cards?

Hey congratulations!!!

You could always send an email around or phone the people you definately want at your wedding to say - our wedding will be on... date in....area. love for you to come. Let you know more nearer the time.

That is the way I did it and worked for me but it's really it's up to you.

So exciting all the build up. Mine was 2 years ago but have my brother's to look forward to this October!!

HI

I know this is a bit after the fact but as someone who makes invitations and also as someone who did not send out save the date cards, my advise is yes send them out and asap.

I didnt when I married in the September and unfortunatley some of the people who I wanted to go the most couldnt .

Damn elderly relatives with second homes in the sun.

You only need to send a little postcard or something so that they know the rough details.

Regards

Yea I would definately let people know now so they can keep the day free. Especially family members as they will probably be the main ones you definately want to be there. My missus can't wait for when she can go through all this stuff in a couple years time lol

Hi and congrats on setting the wedding date!

I always recommend to send out save the date cards as soon as you've set your date, particularly if its in a busy wedding season or holiday time like yours is next August! People can then book it in well in advance and you're sorted.

No pressure, but do have a look at my website 'cardsbysophie dot com' (sorry i'm only an early user on here so can't post a link just yet...!) There is advice on there - any other questions just ask. Happy to help!

Cheers,
Sophie

I presume you are planning a large wedding?

I planned mine in a total of 15 weeks start to finish but mine was very low key.

Personally i would send invites out a little nearer the time. Are you inviting lots of people that you are not in contact with?

Anyway congratulations and good luck!!

OK just in case anyone missed the sarcasm, the original OP wasn't being serious, it's highly likely this is a underhand seo technique to gain traffic...

Don't ask me how it works, I have no idea, I just have a strong gut feeling that the OP will never be seen again...

ohhhhhh i'm too naive!!! To gain traffic to what though? There is no website link even on home page?!? I'm confused :|

Christ another fruitloop thread - the standard of posting crap on UKBF is really hitting new heights.

I had to (a) read this twice and then (b) see where it was posted on the forum - fooks sake, I am looking for a distraction from what I should be really getting on with and then waste another two minutes of my life reading this after dining out issues on the other post
