I am a member of a new networking event that held its first meeting this morning at The Boathouse at Castle Marina Park off Castle Bridge Road.

We are meeting every Wednesday at 9am for some open networking and the formal part of the meeting will start at 9.30am and will close at 10.45am with the chance to do some open networking afterwards.

There is space for one member from each profession and currently the following are filled: Promotional Goods, Corporate Clothing, IFA, Graphic Design, Utility Supplier and Web Designer. All other professions are currently open on a first come first served basis.

We are keen to see as many visitors as possible so please feel free to come along, there is a £3 meeting fee which includes tea and coffee.

So if you are a printer, solicitor, accountant, pay role provider, IT services, PR guru, plumber, sign writter, electrician, gardener, bank manager, estate agent, builder to name but a few come along.

If you would like to attend please contact me via email or phone me on 07944 620763.

Hi

It is a new format of BNI and will follow a similar plan by having open networking at the start, then the formal part of the meeting and then the chance for more open networking after that.

Cheers

Hi Ian

I immediately feel worried by the comparsion with BNI. Some more info about the type of meeting would be helpful.

Cheers

Mike, It IS a new chapter of BNI, it's the meeting I was discussing on my thread about about BNI.

From my point of view Ian, I wish you had told me more in our conversatgion before I attended, regarding it being BNI etc.

As it was, I was not expecting the 'hard sell' I got when I attended, and it has put me off somewhat.

Hi Angela,

I am sorry that you found the meeting pushy, and I will pass on my comments to the group. I certainly don't like the pushy approach, but I feel it might be because we are currently in launch mode and pushing hard to get to 16 members so the chapter can fully launch.

I have found that BNI is a very useful networking tool for the right people as it has a good structure that gives members a much better chance of getting good referrals from it as you get to know the other members week by week and trust them. We do attend other network groups and find they are useful but they don't deliver them same output as BNI.

Once again I can only appologise to you Angela that I didn't tell you it was BNI but in my mind that is fairly irrelevent.

Regards

Ian

Have you thought about saying thank you to your clients at Christmas with well selected Promotional Gifts?
