Hi..

I'm looking for some advice on using mobile POS.

I repair appliances for customers in their homes, collecting payment after completion of any work carried out. I also do work for landlords who often send a cheque or transfer money online.

My intention if possible is to use mobile POS with either my blackberry or a samsung galaxy 3g tablet. The reason for this is a; demand from customers to use cards and b; lengthy waiting time to get payment from some landlords.

A bit of digging has found a business called Adelante who seem to be reasonably rated around different reviews on the internet, however, I'd really appreciate advice from someone who has first hand experience of taken payments like this.

thanks for any help..............

Do you merely want to accept payments via card or offer a full POS system (generate invoices / receipts etc).

If you merely want to accept payments there are a couple of options. Firstly many merchant services (credit card processing services) offer a hand held chip and pin machine which is very similar in cost to a normal in shop machine and offers full portability - and is generally much cheaper than a web based system as you will actually have the card to scan rather than relying upon a cardholder not present system which is more risky and hence more expensive.

As a web based cardholder not present system WORLDPAY offer a solution for a price.
