    This morning I've been trolled by a couple of Members, using the forum to hassle me and effectively promote the politics of envy. This has happened to me on another forum where I was asking questions about inheritance tax. I've reported the commentators as I've felt hassled and the comments are off topic. Does anybody do anything about these people? Do they get warned and eventually thrown off the forum? Does the 'Report this post' actually result in any action?

    Unless you are being threatened or verbally abused, I'd strongly recommend you simply ignore them and move on - or block those members

    The nature of online communication is that it's hard to communicate intent or emotions (which is where emojis are useful) but, being honest, I personally didn't interpret the content of your other thread as trolling.

    Did some posts get deleted? I didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

    I'd avoid the Brexit discussion if you found any of those posts upsetting.

    Haven't seen any hassling of the OP on a thread. Deleted posts maybe?
    Off topic happens occasionally though often moves on to on topic again. Lots of replies are done to replies so easy to move off topic. As that last sentence was also off topic.

    Obviously the perpetrators were dealt with as there is nothing off topic or troll like on the thread now.

    I missed that thread. Otherwise it would really have been trolling.

    I certainly didn't see any hassling or anything untoward on there, so perhaps the reported posts were deleted.

    @The_Artist reporting posts does work.

    There is a process the mod team goes through with the actions ranging between a slap on the wrist to a permanent ban.

    However, reporting a post does not mean your issue will be agreed with! The comments need to be taken in the context of the conversation.
