I'm looking for a couple of dedicated servers to rent. I'd prefer AMD EPYC CPU with fast NVMe storage (doesn't have to be loads of storage but a reasonable amount) and from a company either based in the UK or the EU.

Can anyone recommend a dedicated server host at all? I'll also have to get some IPv4 addresses as I'll be using the dedicated servers to run VPS instances.

    Thanks.

OVH were the cheapest known vendor I saw for this spec a while back, but they had a major fire/outage so make sure you keep backups!

Thanks. I'll check them out. I always keep backups anyway just out of habit. Adds a bit more cost as you need storage at another provider but encrypting a backup and storing it on Amazon S3 should be fairly painless.

If you want to run VPSs why not just do that in someone else's cloud? Eg Bytemark or Digital Ocean?

If you're going to backup using S3, why not just keep everything Amazon?

I use Linode for some of my needs but in this specific instance only a couple of dedicated servers will do what I want them to do.

Thinking about it since I already use Linode I might just use their S3 compatible object storage instead of AWS.

I’ve heard good things about OVH and SoYouStart (OVH budget brand). Good value if you don’t need to rely on their support for anything other than infrastructure.

Out of interest, what do you need a bare metal server for that Linode for example can’t handle?

How many IPs are you looking for, per server?

If you know you are going to need the servers for a while AWS reserved instances can be pretty well priced and probably won't catch on fire like OVH

Nowadays, there are plenty of hosting providers available, so, selecting the right one is a little bit crucial. I think, first,
you have to work on your requirements. In the available web hosting providers,
those who can provide or fulfill all the requirements at an affordable price then you choose them as your future hosting provider.
If you are looking for reliable, affordable Dedicated hosting services and 24/7 support, WHUK is the right option for you.
