I have an idea for an online gambling game, similar to poker in that participants gamble with each other (rather than the house), although the game does not involve playing cards.
I'm looking for a uk-based programmer, of any age, who would be interested in making this a joint venture. The game will require less coding skill than it would take to make a poker room, so if you feel that creating a working poker room (using open source code if need be for certain aspects of the package) is within your capabilities the you will be able to do this quite easily.
At the moment, I would like to get a facebook (or possibly iphone) app built, so that members can play each other for play chips. Obviously you cannot offer real gambling on facebook, but we could offer prizes to the players who accumulate the most chips each month.
Should the facebook app prove popular, I would like to make the game web-based using a downloadable application (similar to fullt tilt, etc.) and to recruit real-money players from our play-money players on facebook. The plan would be to then to secure gaming licenses to enable real gambling between players and we would rake in a small percentage of every pot, as happens on poker sites.
I'm looking for someone with an interest in gambling applications who is looking for a new project to get involved with. All I can bring to the table is the idea and a modest budget for marketing and prizes. There will not be any income from this project for some time and there is always the possibility that it will just prove unpopular and we have both wasted our time.
I want to find someone with time on their hands, the ability to code impressive applications and who likes and believes in the concept of the game.
I already run a reasonably successful business and have 6 years of online trading behind me. My main business will keep ticking over and provide me with a reasonable standard of living, but I've wanted to try something else for a while now and have been working on my game idea for several months.
If you are trawling this forum looking for paid-projects, then you are wasting your time emailing me. I'm looking for someone who wants to get involved in building something from scratch. I know from experience that this can only be done with a lot of hard work and that even that is no guarantee of success.
