Loads of links for small businesses

The 'Resources' pages of our book are packed full of organisations and resources for small businesses and we've included many of them on the 'Useful Links' pages on our website.

I just want to let everyone know that they are there, because they may be of use to you -- they are broken up into the eight sections of the book, making them easier to look through.

Go to http://www.essentialbusinessguide.co.uk/links.html

If you think there are any missing, just let me know and I'll add them in with your name/business name (and link) as the recommender.

Thanks,
Julie

Hi Ian

Their website is actually a really excellent resource for businesses. It's packed with very good information plus various 'tools' which can help you -- one of them is particularly useful for determining which legislation you should be aware of for your business.

As for the services they provide, they differ across the country, to be honest. It depends entirely on which organisation is contracted to deliver the service in your area. Some of them are fantastic, some not so good -- it even depends on the individual business adviser as well, as you can imagine.

It's the same as the Chamber of Commerce -- many people think that they are dry and stuffy, but again it depends on the Chamber in your area.

There's a fuller discussion of their services on the the post, 'Any views on Business Link?' in this forum (quite far down the list, now).

Oh crikey... I'm embarrassed to say I didn't know about your various sites. Mea culpa...

There's definitely at least one link to UKBF though, I promise (I'm trying to remember in which section) because that's how I found you!

This raises an interesting question for me, though. How do other people handle links to other commercial companies? As you may have noticed, our links are nearly all to either public sector/professional bodies, or to resource sites such as magazines, newsletters and... forums, such as this.

But I would like to have a place for sites like yours (particulary Company Formation and Company Credit Reports which look like very useful services for businesses) and others who offer a useful service, but of whom I have no direct experience. I'm genuinely interested to hear what other people do...

Now I'm off to add UKBF to some more pages....

Julie :)

Regards commercial sites though I believe give your viewers a choice. List a small selection of companies for each service and allow your visitors to make up their own mind - then its down to the commercial companies to sell their own services themselves!
