I have two businesses. One for consulting and another a tech company. I want to invoice consulting clients from the tech company, using the consulting business as a trading name. Is this possible? Info: I don't want to be freelance/sole trader, but the consulting business is just me. Earnings get invested into the tech company.
not yet, only the tech company is at the moment. I'm trying to work out how best to proceed as I have a new consulting client to invoice soon.
you can have an invoice letterhead with just your trading name and in the footer can put something like....."ABC consulting is a trading name of XYZ Limited......"
Invoicing isn’t relevant. Who does the client think they have contracted with, I.e who could they sue? If it’s you as an individual, then it will be self employed income and not income of the company.
Invoicing is relevant. If invoicing for the sole trader as a ltd, the turnover becomes that of the ltd com[any, not the sole trader.
