Hi to the forum this is my first post and hope you can assist.

I have been trading as a sole trader (T/AS) for approx a year. I have recently formed a limited comany and obtained VAT registration.

My accountant (also company secretary) has completed the legalities but i am now left with informing my clients. Has anyone any experience or some sample text that i could review with ragards construction a letter to inform them.

Up to now i have not invoiced with VAT but this will now change (as of next invoice run). The company name remains (expcept Ltd at the end).

Any help with a sample letter would be very much appreciated

Thanks in advance

FE

It depends on how waffly you want to go, but something as basic as the following should do...

    Dear XYZ/Sirs,
    Due to continued growth of MY COMPANY NAME the decision has been made to become a Limited company under the name of MY COMPANY NAME LIMITED and to also become VAT registered. The new company details with immediate effect are as follows;

    COMPANY NAME AND ADDRESS
    COMPANY NUMBER
    VAT NUMBER
    COMPANY DIRECTORS & SECRETARY

It has been through your continued support as a valued client that has helped the growth as a business, and I look forward to being able to continually provide the excellent level of service you have come to enjoy.
Should you have any questions relating to this please do not hesitate to give me a call on 12345646 and I'll be happy to answer them for you.

    Yours sincerely/faithfully,

    ME

Ozzy thank you for your assistance and that is excellent. It has become one of those tasks that although simple just never seems right when written!

Once again thank you and spent a good few hours on the site and obtained so much information

    Thank you
