Just a query if anyone can help.

If I wanted to import some cameras to sell in the UK from the likes of Alibaba. Can another UK seller have import rights on the same product, is there such a thing or a Patent, even though the item is generic and widely available by numerous aliexpress and alibaba sellers?

Have import rights or claim import rights?

Either have or claim to have? Is there such a thing on random alibaba products.

No but such a thing does happen with particular items. The two are different.

Why doesn't everyone do it then and stop anyone else selling the same product, they would have the UK market on any chinese product then instead of xxxxx sellers selling identical products,

Judging by the claims over the years there are thousands of sellers who do it.
Mostly come across them on amazon and a few on ebay.

If the supplier is willing to sell to anyone then no one can claim sole import rights.

Only if you put your private logo, and apply for a patent on the products. I do not think there's such a thing of "import rights" for general goods.

Doesn't stop others doing the same.

You can't get a UK or EU patent for something that is already in the public domain. Simply sticking a logo on something is not novel enough to get a patent. In the US you have 12 months from first public disclosure.

Why not do some custom products with your own brand?
