Hi I am new to this forum.
The story begins from the start of this year. I was approached by a surveyor firm regarding to my business rate. They came in and say they have gather information and believe my business rate set by the ratable office is too high for the last and next period. They said they have the confidence to reduce this to my favour. Money was paid to the service on commencement. After 9 months that I have paid, they came back to me and said the negotiation's been done with the ratable office and believe my rate is fair. In real terms, I have gained nothing but paid out for some kind of service which I did not need.
I would like to know whether this has happened to anyone and is there any way that I can complain? Is this a normal surveyor practice? Have I been con in any sence?
