HSBC & FBS Discount

Hey Guys,

We are looking to use sagepay as a payment gateway with a hsbc merchant account , my question is hsbc want £150 for the both merchant account number but i was told about FSB from a client of mine.

They said you can become a member for online £80 and with that HSBC will give you lower transaction costs and there wont be a set up fee for the merchant numbers ?? is this correct??

Any help would be great thanks guys :)

If you go to the FSB website theylist their membership rates. It's about £200 pa I beleive. I'm sure they ahve a deal with a bank for this setup.

I have just joined the Forum of Private Business (fpb.org) - they partner with a company that are setting all this up for me and I am getting a VERY good rate when taking credit cards online, and they set up the merchant account for me too -all at special cheap rates. They also use Sagepay.

Both organisations are similar and have similar deals I'm sure. You are best to look at their websites and talk to them.

Yeah i think it may be useful to give them a call , just wanted to do a little homework before i did.

I currently have a merchant account with streamline but not with my bank and we are very keen to use sagepay so need that merchant account with our bank.

But if im going to be paying them £150 just for merchant accounts then it makes sense to go with the FSB if they can get those wiped away and still have added benefits of the membership
