Dear All,
My small business want to start with importing some products from oversea, but not big amount. Could anyone tell me which post method fit me? Some people suggested me to use shipping agencies.I know they are quite good, but for small amount of shipping, the adminisation they charge may more than actual post fees. So is there any other methods i could consider?
Please help.

Depends what you are shipping but I have been very impressed with FedEx recently.

When I shipped in from Thailand I used George Baker Shipping and they did a great job. The freight was one pallet in size and was very reasonable.

Hi gg

As Pete said, it depends on what you’re importing. If you can gave us an idea of weights, volume physical sizes of these goods, we may be able to give you more exacting information. Are you importing 32 tonne trucks or 10 x Ball point pens??? Theirs a huge difference in prices.

But the best of luck in this venture

Hi,

If you are importing goods from Hong Kong or China, please let me know as I have consignments arriving on a weekly basis and I could probably get away with throwing them on our unit load devices or pallets by air, and we also run a monthly import by sea and there is always a little space left over in the container.

Let me know weights, CBM (cubic meter) and what kinds of goods.

Also chances are I can get you some VERY good rates again by air and sea because we have long standing accounts with some very big lines and carriers, we may also be able to extend some credit to you and allow for use of our hubs in the far east where you would just have to send one email to get your goods collected from anywhere in china or hk.

For much smaller loads, you can use china post, hong kong speed post, tnt, fedex, and DHL are by far the best and the ones with the most infrastructure on the ground in asia.

Hope that helps

Best Regards

Khalid

I have a similar question as GG
Looking to import from China to U.K lots of small quantity stuff, print stuff, light bulbs etc nothing over 30Kg. I can get a price delivered to a U.K port by manufacturer, but to give an accurate quotation i need to know the costs of importing it into the U.K. How do i know what the import tax/other charges will be?? Do i need to use an import company for such small stuff?
Khalid, dont know if you interested in such small but regular stuff?
