How To Get Into Life Insurance Sales As A Self Employed Agent

I want to get into sales and I would like to sell life insurance and other related products.

I want to be my own boss, manage my own schedule and generate my own leads.

When I google self employed life insurance sales jobs, only salaried positions come up.

Does anybody know of any insurance companies that allow this type of relationship.

Hi Jay

You will find that to sell Life Ins (and other regulated products) you will need to have some form of 'sign off' by a network. Your best bet to start with would be to take an employed role with a Life Ins broker (there are plenty here in Hampshire but I don't know where you are based) as this will give you the experience you need to start on your own. It will also enable you to gain a better understanding of the compliance required to sell it. Some companies will take you on Employed and then revert you to self employed (but under their compliance and leads) which would give you a 'safer' option.

If you are looking at generating your own leads then you will need a substantial budget as it's a very competitive market. I ran a Pay-per-click lead generating business and Life Ins leads were horrifically expensive to generate!
