Hi,

I am 14 years old and run a phone recycling website.

I have tried avertising with Google adwords and had reasonable success but what other ways do you think I should advertise my business?

Thanks for the help,
Luke

  1. Get links on phone related websites.
  2. Get your own blog, and write regularly - pages will get picked up by search engines.
  3. Add social bookmark links.
  4. Put a 'Recommend Us' tool on your site
  5. Add a 'Favourites link' to your site
Build up the business, then get some Public relations done eg: contact local newspapers and tell them your story.

Hi MUFCLuke

I would suggest you advertise your business in one of the national newspaper's colour supplements. It is possible to pick up a late space small ad in something like the Independent on Sunday for less than £200 and the profile of the paper would be appropriate for what you are offering.

Good luck!

Doing what you are doing and at your age, would make a great news story for your local paper. You need to contact them, tell the success you've had and what you're doing.

You might even find that they put a piece in the paper which gets you lots of free phones being sent to you without any cost whatsoever.

Ideally, you need to think about a "higher authority figure" that you can bring on side.

Maybe your head-teacher at school? Maybe your bank manager? Maybe a local phone retailer?

I think if you work the angle correctly, you'll have a great story that your local paper will be very happy to follow up and run with, giving you a ton of free advertising and hopefully a ton of phones to recycle as a result!

Good Luck!

Social networking
Join sites like Twitter and Facebook even probably Bebo
Add these social networking tools to your website

Directories/ classifieds
Pay to list your ad’ on sites like Gumtree
A ‘featured ad’ on Vivastreet

Why pay – helps the circulation, flow of money

Door to door
If you have a lot of money for this print flyers and post in people’s letter boxes. Majority of Britons have a mobile phone.

Retail/Outlets
Ask companies if they’d allow you to place a few leaflets about your business in their shops.

I believe Facebook is a good one – lots of people of all ages on there daily.

Try your hand at some SEO, and maybe start by targeting your competitors. This can be a great little trick as some people type the www. address they want directly into the Google search box and not the address bar. Yes the percentage of people doing this is low but the sheer number of people Googling these days can make this a nice quick SEO win to grab some high quality traffic.

Well im thoroughly impressed!

What is your website if you dont mind me asking?

Ide say things like Facebook, twitter are definately the way to go. Ive launched a new blog on it all if your interested? There is a free guide on it for doing just this!

Post out links on twitter and facebook to new things on the website, information on how its doing, offers etc! Not surehow your business works so cant say specifically but am happy to look for you.

Good luck!

Advertising a business is a very good way to get more customers lead to your business. If you want to be a success in your business, you need to think of constant ways to advertise your company. There are many ways of advertisement, choose the one that suits your business and apply it. Internet advertisement can attract people locally and worldwide to your company.

Create a Facebook page, and get the local and national news on your side, they love business from the young, take a leaf from the kid who made his money selling pixel dots, he contacted the press to help him fill his blank pixels and within a few months he acheived his target

As per me seek a source that can provide you with advertisement samples that are then reviewed to help businesses in understanding the strengths and weaknesses of various marketing techniques. This is an important step to take as many online marketing agencies sell the same standard package to any business that has a limited knowledge of online marketing.
