Hi guys I would really appreciate if i could please have some information and knowledge.

I have been doing office jobs for years now but have just decided to go back on the road 6 months ago, I have bought myself a 3.5ton luton van and have just set up a limited company and so far have 2 staff.

I have managed to get a contract with a company that delivers furnature but would love to have more work, more staff and more vans. *More money*

My question is - How to get work contracts with companies in place so I can employ other staff knowing they will definitely have work going forward.

I have called everywhere but am just having no luck as they all say they have companies they use already and I'm thinking if a company said to me yes, I haven't got the other vans and staff in place ready for them. (Sort of chicken and egg)

I just really need some help guys in the best way to start up properly and in years to come have a large successful company.

I'm based in the Luton, Bedfordshire area so if you know of any good contacts or companies it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Chris

I would recommend trying to secure additional work prior to committing yourself to additional resources. High risk of running out of cash quickly if you are paying staff to stand about waiting for work.

Anyone who wants to engage your services will understand that there will be a lead in period before you can start work. Make some enquiries so that you have some staff and a vehicle lined up for when a contract does drop in.

That is for the reply I do also email but I'm not really getting any response at all?

Easy to fob off phone calls and ignore emails.
To be honest the number of calls and emails regarding any one service my businesses have used could be several a day. From different companies.
You may well be one of a dozen calls / emails a day a company has about providing the same services. Without a good reason to change they do not need to.
And those who do have the contracts will be as eager to hold onto them as you are to gain them.

Thanks for all your messages, what do you think the best angle to go down is to get interest and win work?

What would you suggest would be the best companies to approach?

So far I have been messaging mostly courier companies but maybe that's wrong and I should be going to warehouses direct?
