hi there, im looking to use royal mail as my courier via paying online and simply dropping off the products at the post office.

Ive been reading about the fees and thought that it would fit best into the packet catagory.

Heres what is written about this:

Gifts, clothes, shoes, posters, video tapes, large books and other large items and documents are all examples of items that are likely to fall into the Packet format.

Length: over 353mm OR

Width: over 250mm OR

Thickness: over 25mm OR

Weight: over 750g. There is no weight limit for items
sent First Class. The weight limit for Second Class
items is 1000g.

Sending larger items?

The maximum dimensions for rectangular items are 610mm x 460mm x 460mm. Items over these dimensions should be sent by Standard Parcels.

Sending a poster?

The maximum length for rolled or cylindrical items is 900mm, and the length plus twice the item diameter must be no more than 1040mm.

Which i see as very confusing.

I dont understand all these 'ORs' etc but my cylinder shape has the measurements below:

350mm length
55 mm width
55 mm thickness
weight around 100 to 250 g, no more than 500g
Please someone explain would my packages fit into these catagories or what?
links etc much appreciated

thanks all

Your items go under packets, high to be large letters.

if you could get the tubes down to 350mm x 24mm x 24mm you would save a few quid, or change the shape from tubes to more block like.

If you going to be spending more than £5k a year on Royal Mail stamps then ring royal mail and ask about packet post and PPI, if your doing less ask about smart stamp.
