Have you heard of this company

I have been asked to take on a new client today, and they are suppose to quite large, they said they were the second largest business in their industry but i don't know much about them have heard of

Numerica, or their new name Vantis Numerica??

Nope never heard of them, I don't think they are the type of company that does a lot of branding by what I read on their website.

They dont have many offices compared to other companies in this sector. Mind you growth of 59% this year to 37 M is not bad at all. The aim share price also reflects this. Could well be worth a punt but I have no free cash.

I've heard of Numerica (which was I believe acquired by vantis). I had a couple of mailings from them in last 2 years regarding their services, one quite recently but their brand awareness re many accountancy practice is to be honest rather poor.

ps please don't telephone me regarding their offering when you get the contract

You must be dealing with one part of the business the EB.

They do outsourced consultancy as well as business failures.

 

There is a mixture of stuff they want us to do, but I said that they should concentrate on one area at a time.

I have heard of them - I thought they had offices in Southampton. But maybe I'm mistaken.

If you're trying to make money in accountancy, the corporate recovery and corporate finance are the areas where the money is. How are you gooing to go about getting corporate recovery work?

It is very difficult to get companies to admit they are in financial difficulties early enough to save them (usually bank or solicitor referrals), and liquidations are either obtained directly from the Sec of State, or referrals from bank or solicitors.

As a matter of interest, how do you go about getting additional work for accountancy firms? Is it just a case of making lots of calls to business owners / directors and relying on the numbers?

Hi Pete.

Numerica have a list of companies they would like us to talk with that they believe are in a position to make us of Numerica's expertise.
From my meetings with them their does seem to be a gloomy approach to sales, my plan is to let the client reach this decision himself that maybe they can do with a little help as business is not great, rather than saying to them your business is failing and if you dont get us involved your going down the pan!! that approach will never work. Not sure what you mean by getting additional work for accountancy firms?
