Has anyone used CapRelease or similar private funding companies for e-commerce?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently exploring funding options for my e-commerce business and someone recently recommended CapRelease as a potential private funding company. I’d love to hear if anyone here has used CapRelease before and whether you’d recommend them.

Also, are there any risks or important points to be aware of when working with private funding companies versus going through a traditional bank? Is it generally considered safer or more reliable to go through a bank?

Any insights or experiences would be really appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

What interest rate are they quoting?

Why do you need funding? Have you looked at alternate means to raise capital?

It's not a market nor a business I'm familiar with, so can't comment

Broadly, the value that alternative/non-bank funders can bring is a bit of extra flexibility and some niched products like this.

In selecting a lender, pay close attention to how they respond to questions - you need clear and concise answers around how it works, and what it will actually cost you.

If they aren't forthcoming, or are even slightly woolly, run away.

Thank you for your reply! That’s a really good point, I haven’t received a specific interest rate from CapRelease yet, but I’ll be sure to ask.

At the moment, I’m mainly concerned about covering initial expenses right after opening, such as restocking, bills, and any unexpected costs, before I have a clear view of my cash flow. I’m working on my cash flow projections, but I still feel a bit uncertain, so I’m exploring all possible options to stay prepared.

Thank you for your thoughtful advice, it’s very helpful, especially as I navigate options outside of traditional banks. I’ll definitely pay close attention to how clearly lenders respond to questions and make sure I fully understand the terms and costs before moving forward.

Really appreciate your insight! 🙏

This looks to me like a classic question asked in order for a company to sell themselves as the answer. I will leave it open for now in case it shows itself to be a genuine query. But Cap Release's posts had better be more than unsolicited adverts.

I’m really sorry if my post came across as promotional in any way. That wasn’t my intention at all! Just to clarify, I’m genuinely new to this process and came across this company through a recommendation, so I thought I’d ask here to gather different experiences and perspectives.

That is absolutely fine, and one of the purposes of the forum.

A self-promotion response from any supplier mentioned that does not answer the original question tends to be viewed with suspicion.
